Mr. Patrick Askew serves as Executive Vice President, Capital Division for at New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC).
Early in his career Patrick worked at New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and completed notable projects, including the construction of the New York Mets minor league baseball stadium in Coney Island Brooklyn, and the National Lighthouse Museum in Staten Island. He then moved on to work with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) overseeing design and construction of the World Trade Center site. After working with the PANYNJ, Patrick worked with the Metropolitan Transit Authority and served as Deputy Director of the Independent Engineering Consulting Group where he helped oversee and monitor the MTA’s $32 billion capital program.
In April 2017, Patrick returned to NYCEDC and now leads NYCEDC’s Capital Division, managing a $6 billion project portfolio, including 90+ projects in design/construction, as well as 30+ engineers, architects, landscape architects, and other technical and administrative project support staff. In his current role Patrick also provides executive oversight for all capital design and construction work which includes large scale infrastructure projects, such as: construction of a water siphon between Staten Island and Brooklyn; design and construction of the iconic High‐Line Elevated Park, the design and construction of the East Midtown Greenway and the development of the proposed state of the art BQX Streetcar transportation system.
Patrick is a graduate of Temple University and New York University. He holds a Bachelors and Master in Civil Engineering, and also holds a Master in Business Administration.
Mr. Wahid Albert serves as Assistant Commissioner and Chief Engineer for the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), who oversees more than $4.6 billion in annual on-going design and construction projects, assuring the safety of over 17,450 publicly owned bridges, and for the maintenance and operation of over 38,000 lane miles of state owned highways in New York State.
Some notable projects and recent accomplishments under Mr. Albert’s leadership include improved access to Hunts Point Peninsula, JFK Access/Van Wyck Expressway and Kew Garden Interchange, Phase II of the Kosciuszko Bridge Replacement, Sheridan Boulevard, Nassau Expressway, Woodbury Commons, I-81 Viaduct Replacement, new Buffalo and Schenectady Train Stations, six Upstate Airports, and the Bridge NY Program.
Mr. Albert has been working for NYSDOT for 35 years, starting in 1984 as a Junior Engineer. Since then he has held a number of key positions from Supervisor of a Structures Design Unit, to Director of Structures Design, and then Assistant Deputy Chief Engineer of Structures.
Wahid Albert has a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is a licensed Professional Engineer registered in the State of New York.
